Community Land Trusts can emerge as a new kind of urban community developers, rooted in local grassroots organization. Locally grown neighborhood renewal will enable an inclusive and resilient public life. Public policy, funding and urban design strategies for a sustainable community development model are exemplified on 23rd Ave. corridor in East Oakland, California.
